The glass used for sliding shower doors is usually 6mm - 10mm thick with all common colours of hardware available. There are some boxed kits that use 12mm glass, but they can be more expensive and can be too heavy if installing on a fiber-glass base.
Sliding shower doors are a great option for tubs and showers especially when space is limited for a traditional swing door because of a cabinet or bathroom fixtures that can be in the way.
*10mm or 12mm sliding shower doors should have proper wood backing in the walls where the roller bar will be located as they will need adequate support to carry the weight of at least one sliding panel. If wood backing is not present it may affect the stability and warranty of the installation. These types of products are not recommended for fiber-glass shower stalls.
